Lesson 101

I have no plans of becoming a teacher. I see myself as someone doing big things in the future. I want to be a surgeon..... but....

Now I am a teacher. I teach 6 days a week, I have consultations, I prepare lessons, I compute grades, I have deadlines to beat, I complain, blah, blah, blah. But guess what, I AM HAPPY.

It's really true, there is indeed happiness in this profession. A feeling that money can't pay at all. There are simple joy in what I am doing right now. And here are some evidences:

Evidence No. 1

This is a picture of a so-called banner prepared by one of my natural science 1 class a year ago. It is a BIG letter given during our last day of class. What is written in that letter erased all headaches and body pains that I had during that semester.

Evidence No.2

February 14, 2007. I received a long stem red rose and was serenaded by a cute guy. LOL. But this gesture is not from a boyfriend. It was one of my food microbiology class who have given me this treat.

Evidence No.3

When my students come to me and tell me how our lessons in class changed how they look at some things. Example, I am teaching food safety and my students will come and tell me that when they eat at some food establishment, they become a bit observant and they try to check if food handlers observe sanitary standard operating procedures. Some students even laugh at the thought of them becoming a bit paranoid on food safety. But for me, it is a trophy. For those statements are proof that they are learning.

Among those 3 evidences, the last one is the best. That is the simplest joy in teaching. Knowing that you students learn something from you. Some of my students will forget my name, how i look or even forget me totally. But I am sure and I am hoping that what they have learned inside the classroom will remain in their heads and serve as a guide on how they will face the real world.

Now I am a teacher. I teach 6 days a week, I have consultations, I prepare lessons, I compute grades, I have deadlines to beat, I complain, blah, blah, blah. But guess what, I AM HAPPY.

Her Clear Black Night

Last October 31 was awesome! Clear and Taste Asia sponsored a Halloween Dance Party for bloggers and I’m in. It was already pass 8 pm when we arrived at Taste Asia and the place was already jam-packed. It was really amazing how the organizers transformed Taste Asia into an exquisite party place.

Most of the people inside are wearing their best black clothes and they are really in the party mood. The event is filled with delicious food like yakitori, tuna kebab, chicken a la king, fillet mignon and pork barbeque, there is also a chocolate fountain with fruits ...

...and party drinks such as vodka tonic, black Russian and San Mig Light.

It was my brother who gave me the link to register here Clear’s Black Night party. He asked if I'm interested, at first, I'm a bit hesitant for I am not really into parties. But when I visited An Apple A Day’s site, I finally decided to join and even announced it to my multiply account and asked some of my friends to also come. I was able to encourage one...

I was actually with a girl who’s a bit plump but she looks fabulous and confident in her black dress.

She had fun all night, made friends with other people, smiled at the camera and of course she likes to have pictures with other guest.

I looked at her as she party and tried to analyze where on earth did she got all that confidence?

And I begin to look for answers, it is not from her body, she's fat alright, she may have a beautiful face but it has scars due to a fatal accident that happened last year. I look closely and I got the answer, she is carefree, confident, and beautiful because of her hair. She can swing her hair freely as she hit the dance floor. She wears her sexy black outfit with a lot of confidence for there are no flakes on it. Not even one. This girl is really dandruff free. While she’s dancing I whispered “You’re really using Clear huh”. And she said, Yes sis, nuon pa noh. So my guess is right...

all her confidence is from Clear Anti Dandruff Shampoo. Indeed this girl made this night, her clear black night. By the way, her name is …….Regine.
